Common Transport Policy

1) One of the basic tenets of the Treaty of Rome was that member states (originally 6, now 15) would develop a ‘common transport policy’ to provide harmonization of legislation standards, etc across the Union.

This has not yet been achieved but developments towards SEM in 1992 were leading in this direction.
