1) Defined in RVLR 1989 as being from half-an-hour after sunset to half-an-hour after sunrise - when headlights on vehicles must be switched on. Not to be confused with ‘lighting-up time’ - not specifically defined but meaning from sunset to sunrise, when obligatory lights on vehicles must be used.
