1) (1) Track access grant. Government grants towards the operating costs of rail freight services. Designed to encourage a switch of freight from road to rail. See also Section 8 grants and Freight facilities grants. (2) As in tag axle. Industry terminology for a trailing (ie non-driven) axle on a vehicle or semi-trailer.
