Very large catamaran (ie twin-hulled) hydrofoil principally used for ferry services such as with Stena Line's HSS vessels on the cross-Channel and North Sea routes and on Irish Sea routes between Northern Ireland and mainland UK - said to be capable of 50 mph. P&O operates a similar vessel the 'Superstar Express' out of Larne to mainland UK destinations.
