Traffic warden

1) Person appointed by local police authority to act as such (ie when in uniform only). They have powers to enforce the law mainly in connection with stationary vehicle offences such as parking and causing an obstruction and at crossings and car pounds and can require a driver to give his or her name and address, but not produce their driving licence (except when on duty at car pound) or other vehicle documents.
