Turning circle

1) (1) Articulated goods vehicles of 16.5 metres length must be capable of turning within minimum and maximum swept inner and outer concentric circles of 5.3 metres radius and 12.5 metres radius respectively. (2) Buses first used since 1 April 1988 must be capable of turning on either lock so that no part of the vehicle projects outside a pair of concentric circles with radii of 12 metres for the outer circle and 5.3 metres for the inner circle.

The outer rear corners of vehicles (ie the side opposite the direction in which it is turning) must not swing out more than 0.8 metres in the case of rigid buses and more than 1.2 metres in the case of articulated buses.
