1) Bogie comprising a number of linked axles (usually on trailer). In this case three such axles linked by suspension.

Tri-axle/bogie 1) Bogie comprising a number of linked axles (usually on trailer). In this case three such axles linked by suspension. Double-drive/bogie 1) On heavy vehicles with two or more rear axles, where at least two of the axles forming a bogie are driven (as opposed to trailing axle/s which is/are not driven). This gives improved traction (eg for use on rough/steep terrain). Bogie 1) A number of wheels or axles mounted on a pivotal sub-frame (eg on a rail locomotive or on aircraft landing gear, or a set of suspension-linked wheels/axles for a road vehicle/trailer. Airsprung axle (bogie) 1) Axle or set of axles with suspension provided by air bags (see Air suspension).
