Small goods vehicle
1) In 'O' licensing, goods vehicle defined as not exceeding 3.5 tonnes pmw (ie which is exempt from such). Also, exempt from EU drivers' hours law, tachograph fitment and can be driven by person age 17 years.

Small goods vehicle 1) In 'O' licensing, goods vehicle defined as not exceeding 3.5 tonnes pmw (ie which is exempt from such). Also, exempt from EU drivers' hours law, tachograph fitment and can be driven by person age 17 years. Recovery vehicle 1) Legally defined as vehicle constructed or permanently adapted primarily for the purpose of lifting, towing and transporting a disabled vehicle (max. two at any time) and used for recovery and removal of such. Now in separate VED class and may not be used on trade plates. Tipper/tipping vehicle 1) A vehicle designed and built to discharge its load (usually of bulk goods - sand, gravel, coal, grain, etc, or liquid or granular loads) by raising the front end of the body hydraulically. Accompanied vehicle (trailer) 1) Driver accompanied vehicle/trailer, usually on cross-Channel ferry service. See also Unaccompanied.
Rapid intervention vehicle 1) Fast vehicle used by fire brigades to get quickly to a fire/emergency to start fire fighting/rescue pending arrival of main (usually slower) vehicle units. Showmen's goods vehicle 1) Goods vehicle registered in name of travelling showman and subject to special rates of VED. Abandoned vehicle 1) A motor vehicle that appears to the authorities to have been abandoned and which may subsequently be removed and disposed of under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Acts.
