Axle weight calculation 1) Theoretical exercise (used mainly in CPC examinations) to determine the weight on an axle when other given weights are known. Formula (P x D)/W applies when P = vehicle payload, D = the distance from the load centreline to the axle and W = the vehicle wheelbase.
Axle weight 1) Sum of the weights transmitted to the road surface by all the wheels of a vehicle axle.
Kerb weight 1) The weight of a vehicle in road-going condition, inclusive of oil, water and fuel but without a load or the driver or any passenger on board - not to be confused with unladen/tare/gvw. Notional gross weight 1) When necessary to determine maximum gross weights for vehicles/trailers which do not have plated weights (for driving licence purposes) a multiplier is used to convert the ulw to a notional gvw. Gross weight (vehicle/axle) 1) The total weight of a vehicle/trailer or vehicle/trailer combination transmitted to the road by all the wheels. Includes load, driver/passenger, loose equipment and fuel. Вес на ответственности грузоотправителя (said to weight, weight unknown) 1) оговорка, вносимая судовладельцем в коносамент в тех случаях, когда нет возможности проверить массу погруженного на судна груза либо когда у судовладельца имеются основания полагать, что масса принятого груза определена неточно. В последнем случае капитан судна, кроме внесения в коносамент указанной оговорки, должен также заявить грузоотправителю письменный протест.

Вес нетто (net weight) 1) масса товара без тары и упаковки. По в. н., как правило, устанавливается цена на товар, при этом в ней также учитывается стоимость тары и упаковки.
