Self-employment
1) Means working for one's self or running one's own business. Important to ensure that Inland Revenue (IR) requirements are fully met otherwise such work will be counted as employment and customer will have to meet employer's share of national insurance (NI) contributions, etc and pay tax for self-employed person. Self-employed must pay own NI contributions and declare earnings to IR.
