Tramp
1) In the old days of road haulage, the practice whereby vehicles travelled the country seeking loads (ie tramping) as opposed to trunking between two points. In shipping, a vessel engaged in bulk cargo or time chartering (ie not a liner vessel) - the old-fashioned term was tramp steamer.
